Requirements

Our requirements are very easy. Our distribution is by client choice. Please follow the instructions given outside. In inclement weather we ask that you remain in your vehicle until you are notified to proceed into the building. For USDA food such as meat you will be asked to provide information and a signature. This is government paperwork and therefore unavoidable. We do not ask for proof of identification. Please bring something to take your food home in. Boxes with handles and laundry baskets work very well. Do not worry about missing out on food, we always supply enough for more than we expect. Remember that we are not your "food supplier". We are a supplementary agency and will not attempt to supply your family with all the food they require for the week. The smart thing to do is to come to us first and then go grocery shopping for the balance of what your families needs are.

Major Losses for the community

It is with deep sorrow that we have to inform our clients that Rick Fernald passed away early Saturday August 17th. He had been with The Good Samaritans for about 9 years and was a board member. He drove our big truck when I lost the sight in my left eye and my license expired. I knew Rick for over 20 years and counted on him for constant help. If you needed something all you had to do was call him. He will be greatly missed.

Bill Ruppert

Another devastating loss to the community was Jerry Beck. He was a volunteer for The Good Samaritans and a soldier in the Lords Army. He would pass out small well designed crosses and inspirational cards to all who would accept them. He would come to volunteer even when he was on oxygen and in pain. His fortitude was an inspiration to the other volunteers and everyone would love when he and his wife Donna would show up. His mission reached a wide audience. While in the hospital Jerry had given me some crosses to hand out. The people I gave then to loved them but more surprising were those who told me "I already have one" and would show them to me. He also will be greatly missed.
